Social determinants and prenatal nutrition

The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive portrait of the social, economic and linguistic / cultural context that guides the dietary practices and nutritional status of socioeconomically disadvantaged pregnant women living in Eastern Ontario.

Aim of the study

To better understand the factors influencing the nutrition of low-income pregnant women to improve their health and that of their babies. 

Criteria 

  • To be less than 34 weeks pregnant

  • To be francophone  

  • To live in eastern Ontario

  • To give birth at Montfort hospital  

  • To be 19 years of age or older

 participation

3 online meetings (video-conference) of approximately 1 hour:

  • Respond to questionnaires

  • Participate in an interview

  • Hair collection (optional)
